TRUMP’S HEALTH:  PHYSICHAL AND MENTAL

Trump strides the world like some deranged Colossus, crushing underfoot those in his way – blinded by his crazy ambition to prove he is the master of everything.

At the moment the world trembles as ‘Big Baby’ (oil – dig baby dig: taxes for super wealthy – cut baby cut: foreign land – grab baby grab: immigrants – exit baby exit) toddles toward them, thick-shake and cheeseburger in hand.

Babies have decades of life ahead of them. Trump doesn’t.

The President is in his 79th. year. Trump boasts he’s in excellent health. His doctor reports he’s in good health for a man his age. Details as to blood pressure and cholesterol levels and other vital signs are (as is the norm) confidential.

Doctors who have served previous Presidents (Clinton, W Bush and Obama) note while Trump has pluses on his side (he gets exercise playing golf, is a never-smoker and non -drinker) he is clinically obese, has a poor diet, only sleeps around 5 hours a night and leads a high pressure/stressful lifestyle.

We have no independent measure of Trump’s IQ (although he readily and frequently admits to being ‘a genius’). More than one of the ex-White House doctors referred to above have also commented on signs of some cognitive decline, especially in relation to critical decision making. Again, such symptoms are fairly typical in his age group (and certainly not as serious as those exhibited by President Biden) …but those symptoms are becoming more and more obvious since Trump took over and started wielding ‘his big black pen’. He’s signed hundreds of Executive Orders (that impact right across American society) in less than forty    days. His international diplomacy is that of an ignorant novice – a big baby who wants to join the big-boy gang.

Already his attention span is obviously shortening, his thinking has become more disjointed and his temper ever rising. These are symptoms of a person under excessive stress. They, together, are harbingers of a breakdown, mental or physical – or both.

A white, affluent male in retirement who’s reached the age of 80 can (on average) expect another 8 or so years of life. Reaching that target with a reasonable quality of life is pretty much a 50-50 proposition.

What happens if Trump suffers a major heart attack or stroke in office and is rendered dysfunctional (more than an even chance) – or dies? What if he falls to an assassin’s bullet?

It’s a frightening prospect.

What would a President Vance do? How would he handle Musk? How would Musk handle him? How would Trump’s henchmen and henchwomen split? What would the Republican Party do? How would the public react? Who, of quality, is left to lead America?

How would democracy’s enemies react? Why wouldn’t they avail themselves of this unique opportunity and press ahead with their ambitions?

Trump has already brought chaos to America…and the world. His sudden death would multiply that chaos.

Americans need do more than gird their loins and wait for the storm to pass. They need to resist, become vocal, support the Law and the Institutions that made the Country great – to resist their demolition – and not stop until they defeat the barbarians.
